May 26, 2022, Baku - At the invitation of AZAL President Jahangir Askerov, the Polish delegation led by Rafal Milczarski, CEO of LOT airline and Chairman of the Board of Directors, arrived in Baku on May 26 on a business trip.

Jahangir Askerov and Rafal Milcharski discussed the prospects of bilateral cooperation at the meeting held at the office of "Azerbaijan Airlines" and attended by the Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Poland, Nargiz Gurbanova.

The parties congratulated each other on the start of the air connection and expressed their hope for the continuous performance of the flights. The start of flights between the two countries will allow to increase the flow of tourism and expand business relations between Azerbaijan and Poland.

The Polish carrier will make its first flight from Warsaw to Heydar Aliyev International Airport on May 28. Flights will be performed 4 times a week.

Jahangir Askerov, the president of "AZAL", particularly reminded that the fifth and seventh degree "freedom of air" regime is applied in all seven international airports of the country. These degrees of freedom of air give foreign air carriers equal rights with Azerbaijani airlines and allow them to perform transit flights through the airports of Azerbaijan.

Rafal Milcharski, head of "LOT" airline company, noted that he is very interested in the implementation of flights between Azerbaijan and Poland. According to him, regular flights will promote the development of mutually beneficial interests of both countries.

At the end of the meeting, the guests were shown the possibilities of the five-star Heydar Aliyev International Airport, in particular, the ground service provided to planes, the operation of various services and comfortable conditions created for passengers in the airport complex.
